EDITORIAL LOVE | LULA MAGAZINE

I think I literally just died when I first saw this editorial shoot by Damon Heath for Lula Magazine. I can't stop scrolling up and down and just keep loving every single image. Everything is to die for. I love the lighting and the mood, and I love the styling also. While I sit here designing Talulah's Autumn 2013 collection I can't help but be side tracked by this beautiful shoot. Xx

ZOE KRAVITZ
I am obsessing over Zoe Kravitz. There is something just so incredibly cool about her. Of course being Lenny Kravitz's daughter she just epitomises his very cool attitude. It's amazing how personality traits come through the genes generation after generation. I'll be watching this girl closely xx

MUSE | ANJA RUBIK
I often am asked if I have a muse when designing?
Anja Rubik would have to one of my favourite models in the world, she is absolutely beautiful and I would love to see her wearing Talulah (wish wish) She has such an effortless beauty as if she just wakes up and looks like this. I love how natural she is in all the shoots she does too, she makes beautiful look cool and cool look beautiful. Kelli xx

PASTEL INSPIRATION & OBSESSION
Inspirations come from so many mediums when designing the collections for Talulah. I just came across these images I had saved of all my favourite pastel tea cups, I love them so much I just want to eat them up like lollies. Anyway this was where I begin our Summer collection Neon Romance which we just showed at Australian Fashion Week on May 1 2012. Love this colour palette of what I call Neon Pastels. Kelli xx

Runway Photos And Review Of Talulah SS 2013 MBFWA
2012 MBFWA: Talulah
Flirty, fun and just a splash
of sexy, Talulah lit up the room with designer Kelli Wharton's (she's
sporting a stunning pregnant glow) eclectic taste. The 'Love Blind'
collection featured a mix of tropical, floral digitally designed prints,
with a strong lean to pastel — spearmint in particular. A range of
fitted body con dresses featured cut work and modern lines, and the
collection took on an athletic feel with white painters' caps, cuffed
mini shorts and fluid, silk trousers with drawstring waists. Other
highlights include a thick, knotted belt in white and spearmint,
sleeveless racer-back button-up blouses and asymmetrical hemlines.
- Colours: Pastel spearmint and pink, neon yellow, digital prints including black and white floral.
- Trends: Athletic shapes, cuffed shorts and trousers, sheer, cut work and binding, floral and digital prints.
- Key Looks: So Spearmint body-con dress with front draping, digital print dress with asymmetrical hem.
- Accessories: Matching print clutches, white caps, four-tone open toe heels with ankle straps.

Queenland designers buck trends at Australian Fashion Week

THE focus is on Sydney, but Queenslanders are making an impact on
at Australian Fashion Week, with more representation on the runway than
the country's fashion capital of Melbourne.
With four clothing brands and several accessories designers
represented on the runway at Circular Quay, there is a strong Brisbane
presence and they are earning national and international praise. The first Queenslander to show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia was Brisbane's Gail Sorronda.
Her installation-style show at The Box, a new space within the fashion week headquarters at the Overseas Passenger Terminal, was a moody but effective event.
Models emerged to stand on small square platforms placed in an arrowhead shaped arrangement to an atmospheric soundtrack while a movie Sorronda shot on the Sunshine Coast hinterland played in the background. Photographers and invitees were able to get up close and move around the static display.
The biggest shock of the range was her use of vibrant colour. Since she began seven years ago, her collections have been solely rendered in black and white. But for summer 2012, her work contains primary brights of yellow, green and red.
Brisbane shoe designers Tom Gunn collaborated on the footwear for top Sydney designer Gary Bigeni's show. The thick, strappy block mirrored heels came in electric blue, sand and black and were the perfect foil to Bigeni's simple and feminine collection.
Courtney and Taylor Harris, designers of Brisbane-based jewellery label, Angle Diamond Dot, had their collection of chunky semi-precious rock jewels featured on the runway in the Camilla show, the biggest event of Fashion Week so far.
Kelli Wharton, who moved her Brisbane-based design business to Byron Bay 18 months ago, showed a well-edited collection under the Talulah label. With soft sherbet colours of mint, pink and lemon weaving through her relaxed range.

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia: Talulah
Cosmo's very own Charlotte Stokes styled the Talulah show which was a burst of prints and patterns you'll love
Sum up the show in three words: cool sexy
fun
The concept: a retro 60's take on sporty luxe.
Lots of prints and lots of prints on prints!
We loved: all the
prints and dresses (especially the knits and full pleats on
dresses), black and white short suit set.
The hair/make-up:
hair- very cool with a slight pink colour running through which was
softly brushed out and parted in the middle. Make-up was all about
natural, dewy skin and gold tones.
Favourite
accessories: stilettos with
fine pastel straps and the Zowie necklaces (get them here)
Who we spotted:
Rumi Neely, Bryan Boy and Nicole Warne (who walked in the
show!)
What was in the goody bags: TRESemmé
hair products, OPI nail polish and Napoleon make-up
